All residential above retail: Responses in for lucrative lot at Eighth and O

The District has received six responses from teams of developers eyeing a redevelopment opportunity in the heart of Shaw. In mid-December, the District offered a 13,306-square-foot parcel at Eighth and O streets NW, across the street from Roadside Development’s Giant-anchored CityMarket at O, for redevelopment. The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development sought a proposal that includes retail and mixed-income residential for the site, currently a parking lot, at 1336 Eighth St. NW.    Read More

Last week, TTR Sotheby’s International Realty announced the closing on a block of prime real estate at the northeast corner of 14th and Wallach Place NW (map) for a price of $7,700,000. The plan for the site is a 56-unit ground-up apartment building called Elysium Fourteen, the groundbreaking for which is July 1st 2014. Washington, D.C.—Working on behalf of Madison Investments, MAC Realty Advisors LLC has arranged a $27.4 million investment and senior construction loan to acquire and develop a site located at 1921 14th Street NW in Washington, D.C.
